RAPALLO MONTALEGRO CABLE CAR
The best view of Portofino and the Cinque Terra is from the Rapallo Montallegro Cable Car which starts at Piazzale Silvio Solari, 2, where you can buy a ticket. The Funivia connects Rapallo to the Sanctuary or Church of Montallegro with a 2350 metre route that gains 600 metres of altitude above Rapallo.
There is also an ancient walkway starting up the hill behind the Cable Car ticket office but beware its steep and some of the path is not in good condition. You can also walk, drive a car or ride a bike on paved roads up to the Montallegro Sanctuary.
In the summer there is a restaurant and café at the top of the cable car as you walk up the hill to the Sanctuary or Church of Montallegro. The view along the Italian Riviera to Portofino is well worth the 200 metre walk up the hill to the Church from the Cable Car
